Valley of the Queens
Originally known as the “Place of Beauty”, in Arabic as Biban el-Harel (Gates of the Harem), the valley contains nearly 80 tombs, most of which are uninscribed and simple in plan.
The second royal necropolis in Thebes, situated a few kilometers from the Valley of the Kings, houses the tombs of royal queens, princes, and leading dignitaries. Read the rest of this entry »
