Namib-Naukluft Park
The present boundaries of Namib-Naukluft Park, one of the World’s largest national park covering 50,000-km sq., were established in 1978 by merging The Namib Desert park with parts of diamond area 1 and bits or of surrounding government land, Today it takes in over 23,000 sq. km of desert and semi desert area. Between the normally dry beds of the Swakop and Kuiseb Rivers, the desert is largely rock and stone.
