Lower Zambezi National Park
The 56,000 hectare Lower Zambezi National Park which is vaguely associated with Victoria Falls National Park  consist of 40 km of Zambezi.
Best time to visit
August to December when the flow of water over the falls is lowest as the mist created by the falling water obscures the view when the flow is strong.The road is closed from November to April, but the camp remain open and accessible by canoe. At this time of year, advance bookings may be made in Victoria Falls .
Wildlife
River frontage  and a spread of wildlife - rich inland mopane forest and savanna. The park is best known for its herds of sable, but is also home to other antelope species, elephant, zebra, giraffe, lion and buffalo.

Horse riding
Horse back safari’s accommodate up to eight riders at a time but children under 12 most they have had a year’s riding experience or completed a riding course.
Game Drives
Game drivers in Lower Zambezi National Park are available. They start between 6 and 8 am and finish between 9 and 11 am and also run from 3 to 6 pm.
Game Walks
Half/full day game walks are run by wild horizons and Dakula Safaris. They also run occasional overnight walks. Back packers Africa does half/full day game walks.
Access
Independent visitors to Lower Zambezi National Park need a car, bicycles and motorbikes aren’t allowed except on the transit route to Kazungula. Although it’s discouraged you can walk from Victoria Falls town to the park entrance gate and look for a lift.
Accommodation
National Parks operates a variety of accommodation in the park. The riverside lodges at the park entrance have two bedrooms, a living area and a veranda, but they book up well in advance. Make reservations at the central booking office in Harare.
