Ssese Islands
The 84 forested islands of the Ssese group, scattered like green jewels on the waters of Lake Victoria some 55km from Entebbe are one of Uganda’s greatest undiscovered treasures. Only the largest have any development, the rest remain unspoilt - tropical forests are full of birds and monkeys, white sand beaches and crystal clear water.

There is wildlife on the islands including black and white colubus monkeys, water monitor lizards, a few antelope species, among them being the rare split hooved, swamp-dwelling Sitatunga.
