Areas of sound rock do not necessarily provide climbs of the highest quality and guides endeavour to indicate the ridges and walls which are likely to prove attractive to cragsmen. More satisfying though are the possibilities for snow and ice climbing in the Toubkal region generally in long gullies, which are invariably concluded with several pitches on rock in order to reach a summit.
